1860's Wool Cap

  • Body of cap is constructed using a lightweight, plain woven, wool broadcloth. Interior lining is a fushia wool felt, glued into the interior. Cap is bound with a loose woven, plain weave cotton trim tape measuring roughly 5/8" wide. Trim on body of cap is tightly woven grossgrain, in a 1/4" and 5/8" size, along with a 1/2" metalic braid ribbon. Brim is enamled pasteboard with wool covering on top side of brim. Cap is made from a 3 panel construction, the front brim being integrated into the front panel.
