Linen Sack Coat Early 1860's

    Accession date: 4-27-2022

  • Primarily machine sewn with machined "French" felled seams. Interior armscye is felled in the same manner as the rest of the garment.

    Collar is sewn onto coat from the rear (underside) and turned over, basted into place, and then machined into place.

    Buttonholes are 7/8" long, spaced 4&7/8" apart. Breast pockets measure 6"x6" and 5.5"x5.5".
