Waistcoat front body is made from a heavy weight, textured silk brocade, with fine indigo floral motifs. The rear as well as the interior of the waistcoat is made from a cream/offwhite glazed cotton. Rear buckle is an 1855 Hartshorn patent buckle. Buttons are machine made, fabric covered buttons, made from the body material. Garment is entierly hand sewn.
